Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists
ACAMS is the largest international membership organization dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and expertise of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and financial crime detection and prevention professionals, from a wide range of industries, in both the public and private sectors. ACAMS recognized Utica College as one of its education and training partners for its economic crime programs, the Economic Crime Institute, and the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection (CIMIP).
Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Centers of Digital Forensics Academic Excellence Program
Operating since 1998, The Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) sets standards for digital evidence processing, analysis, and diagnostics for any DoD investigation that requires computer forensic support to detect, enhance, or recover digital media, including audio and video. The center assists in criminal, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and fraud investigations of the Defense Criminal Investigative Organizations (DCIOs) and DoD counterintelligence activities. It also supports safety investigations and Inspector General and commander-directed inquiries. DC3 aids in meeting intelligence community document exploitation objectives from a criminal law enforcement forensics and counterintelligence perspective. DC3 chairs the National Center of Digital Forensics Academic Excellence (CDFAE) governance board comprised of Academia and Professional Organizations specific to the discipline. The governance board oversees learning objective requirements, designation, and ensuring that a holistic approach to developing digital forensics, cyber investigation, and cyber analytics education is in place.
Utica College has been recognized by CDFAE as one of its Pilot Schools and Trusted Partners. CDFAE Develops partnerships between academia and the government to establish standards and best practices for digital forensics practitioners, educators, and researchers to advance the discipline of Digital Forensics and increase the number of qualified professionals to meet the needs of law enforcement, counterintelligence, national defense, and legal communities.
International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA) – Academic Member
IALEIA is the largest professional organization in the world representing law enforcement analysts. It is based in the United States and is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 corporation. The purpose of IALEIA is to advance high standards of professionalism in law enforcement intelligence analysis at the local, state/provincial, national, and international levels. Our aim is to enhance understanding of the role of intelligence analysis, encourage the recognition of intelligence analysis as a professional endeavor, develop international qualification and competency standards, reinforce professional concepts, devise training standards and curricula, furnish advisory and related services on intelligence analysis matters, conduct analytic-related research studies, and provide the ability to disseminate information regarding analytical techniques and methods. IALEIA’s Professional Certification Committee reviewed and approved Utica College’s M.S. in Cybersecurity – Intelligence and Forensics courses.
The Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI) – Operational Sponsor
CSFI is a non-profit organization headquartered in Omaha, NE and in Washington DC with a mission “to provide Cyber Warfare awareness, guidance, and security solutions through collaboration, education, volunteer work, and training to assist the US Government, US Military, Commercial Interests, and International Partners.” CSFI was born out of the collaboration of dozens of experts, and today CSFI is comprised of a large community of nearly 5000 Cyber Security and Cyber Warfare professionals from the government, military, private sector, and academia. CSFI was founded on March 6, 2009, by Mr. Paul de Souza, a Chief Security Engineer for AT&T looking to find answers about the shift in hacking to more political and militaristic activity. Mr. de Souza was on the front lines of what history may call the first preludes to cyber warfare, and he continues to rally the community around Cyber issues.
Air Force Research Laboratory Information Institute (AFRL/RI)
The Information Institute is a virtual, collaborative research environment concentrating on Information Science and Technology. The Information Institute currently consists of universities allied with the US Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in Rome, NY. The Information Directorate is focused on basic research and advanced development in the cyber domain. Its diverse workforce of more than 800 military and civilian scientists and engineers are charged with leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting information technology capabilities for our air, space and cyberspace force.
CyberWatch
CyberWatch is an Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Center, headquartered at Prince George’s Community College and funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The CyberWatch mission is to increase the quantity and quality of the information assurance workforce. The CyberWatch goals are focused on information assurance (IA) education at all levels, from elementary through graduate school, but especially the community college level, and include curriculum development, faculty professional development, student development, career pathways, and public awareness.
Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
The ACFE is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with nearly 70,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud world-wide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession. Based in Austin, Texas, the ACFE was founded in 1988 by preeminent fraud expert and author, Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA. Dr. Wells’ insight as an accountant-turned-FBI agent led to the formation of a common body of knowledge known today as fraud examination.
CompTIA Authorized Academy Partner
The CompTIA Authorized Partner Program for Academy Partners offers a robust educational program designed to assist academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and government retraining agencies in enhancing the learning experience for students preparing for an IT career. We can help students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and credentials for a successful IT career path. This includes resources to help students choose potential paths of employment and education on opportunities for long-term career growth. The program includes information, tools, and resources designed to help school administrators and instructors plan, prepare, and deliver an effective IT curriculum.
Cyber Research Institute
The establishment of the New York State Cyber Research Institute (CRI) is underway as a subsidiary of the Griffiss Institute, located at the Griffiss Business and Technology Park, Rome, New York. A primary focus area of the CRI is sensitive and classified cybersecurity research and development, leveraging the groundbreaking work being done at AFRL Rome with its industry and academic partners. The CRI will provide the venue for developing solutions to challenge problems that impact us daily and jeopardize the safety, security, and stability of the infrastructure and assets of New York State, and our country, in particular, our national finance and banking, emergency communication, energy, and transportation systems.

Promote partnerships that leverage the federal,
state and private training, research, development, demonstration and technology transfer resources to protect the integrity of cyber-based infrastructure, facilitate the transfer of cyber technology to effective market applications, establish and foster a sustainable program that will grow the cyber-based economy in New York State, expand the region’s cyber-based workforce, promote New York State as the leader in Public/Private Sector collaboration in cyber-based research and protection.
Griffiss Institute
CAE- Cyber Defense (CD) is a program that aims to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in CD. CAE-CD produces a growing number of professionals with CD expertise in various disciplines. The National Centers of Academic Excellence in CD programs are sponsored by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Designation as a CAE does not carry a commitment for funding from NSA or DHS.
Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity are institutions that have met rigorous requirements, and through careful evaluation are designated as CAE in Cybersecurity. An institution or program must apply to be a CAE every five academic years. Students attending CAE-CD and CAE-R schools are eligible to apply for scholarships and grants through the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program and can apply for the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program. CAE in Cybersecurity institutions receives formal recognition from the U.S. Government as well as opportunities for prestige and publicity in return for their role in supporting our Nation’s information systems.
